Lecture and Discussion: LinkedIn's simple philosophy - Relationships Matter
Your professional relationships are key to your
professional success.
Our mission is to help you be more effective in your daily work and open doors
to opportunities using the professional relationships you already have.
This isn't networking - it's what networking should be.
Forget exchanging business cards with acquaintances that don't know your work,
or trying to renew professional ties when you need a favor.
Due to illness, Jenny Kahn
has postponed her presentation. Marcia Stein will be our speaker, and
she will talk about effectively using LinkedIn for your job
search.
Marcia recently
launched her book, Recruiters on Recruiting, a look into the career
paths of different types of recruiters, their tips for job seekers and new
recruiters. She has also
published a series of articles about career paths. The ebook and articles can be found at www.ourhrsite.com/ebooks.html; a
paperback version of the book is on Amazon.
Marcia
Stein has worked in the Silicon Valley in Human Resources since 1989 and owns a
Human Resources Consulting practice.
Working in small to mid-size companies, she has held positions as a
Recruiter, Staffing Manager and Human Resources Director. Marcia is an active speaker both
in-person and via webinars. Marcia earned a national certification
as a Professional in HR and a BS from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is the founder, organizer
and visionary of the Silicon Valley Women in Human Resources…and Friends
group, a 1,500+ member networking, mentoring and educational group for
professional women. Marcia
started and maintains a website for the group and has been recognized by the
HR Symposium with the Partners in Innovation Award. Her business site is
