Public corporations spend more $4M to $14M on Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance yearly. That's like Y2K on an annual basis! Hundreds of SOX jobs are available in accounting, IT, technical writing and other fields. This is a hands-on workshop and you will leave with electronic tools in popular formats (Word, Excel), not expensive SOX-specific software.
All U.S. public companies must comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. This act of Congress requires company officers to certify that internal controls are adequate to prevent the defrauding of investors. Although the cost of compliance is high, this effort makes a positive contribution to the strategic direction of any organization. This course provides hands-on decision-making exercises in areas such as conveying the importance of ethics to employees, combining SOX compliance with ISO registration or Six-Sigma, making major upgrades in IT hardware/software, or even going private. Participants learn how to turn the effort and cost of compliance into an investment with strong ethical and financial returns.
