"People unable to express themselves clearly in writing limit their opportunities for professional, salaried employment."
Bob Kerrey, Former Senator, Chair of the National Commission on Writing and President of New School University in New York

How much time do you lose when you are writing an email and can’t seem to get to the point? How much business have you lost because your competition’s promotional writing might be a little better? How would you like to be able to use your ability to write as a powerful way for you to get what you want in your career and for your business?

Who Should Attend?
o Marketing and service/support executives, managers, supervisors, and fast-track engineers
o IT professionals and webmasters who find that writing is a significant part of their jobs
o Any business professional interested in using writing as a competitive edge
Goals
In this workshop, you will learn how to:
o Use powerful visualization techniques to plan your writing
o Design your writing to meet the needs of multiple audiences and purposes
o Schedule your writing to optimize its effectiveness and precision
o Cluster, brainstorm, and freewrite to identify more quickly what you have to say on any subject
o Tame your inner editor so that you can write more fluidly when you create your draft -- but welcome him or her back when you need help!
o Recycle your writing for greater effectiveness and efficiency
In addition, we will review the most common mistakes in style and grammar and the most effective way to use grammar check capabilities in word processing programs.

Take-with-you Tools
At the end of this workshop, participants will receive train-the-trainer guides so that they can share the techniques that they’ve learned in this workshop with others in their workplaces. Each participant will also be given a coupon good for a one-hour follow-up consultation with the instructor.
